We are WAY behind on our blogging, as I previously said… so I’m sorry for announcing our May book so late! Hopefully we can can catch up this month.
As usual, we’ve been busy. We’ve got three new book club babies, two members in Peru and one in China, members changing jobs, moving… and generally just living it up.
But we’re super excited for summer (which appears to be here!), and a few other things, like the Gone Girl movie trailer that was released. It doesn’t come out until October, but we’re already counting down.
We’ve also entered a team into Hope Volleyball Summerfest! It’s a charity beach volleyball tournament in Ottawa and it’s super fun. We’re even allowing some boys to join (honourary UBC members) to give us a hand.
Before we get into some cool links our members found this past month, we have to tell you that the BBC in London contacted us! They were interviewing a few authors we’ve read and asked us to submit discussion questions. Pretty cool, eh? No news yet on whether or not our questions made it to air.
Okay, on to the cool links:
- Five ways to fit a home library into a small space. This is amazing since many of our members are apartment-dwellers.
- Photographs of meals from famous literature. For the foodies and bibliophiles among us, this was perfect.
- This INCREDIBLE book club video about that we all loved. Hilarious.
And without further ado, our book this month is Attachments by Rainbow Rowell! She’s an author getting a lot of attention lately, and personally I’ve been dying to try her out. It’s a fun, light rom-com, perfect for this action-packed time of year.
